The Iraqi Universities Badminton Championship for female and male 2024 students came to an end; it was held in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, which was organized by the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad in cooperation with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Iraqi Federation for University Sports, with the participation of more than 70 public and private universities, and in the presence of the official of university sports, Prof. Dr. Ali Youssef.
The female students’ team won three times: the first against its counterpart, the University of Technology (2, zero), and the second against its counterpart, the University of Diyala (2, zero). The third against its counterpart, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra University (2, zero), crowning first place in the championship among all Iraqi universities. In contrast, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra University won second place, and the University of Babylon and Diyala won third in tied.
As for the men students’ team, Kirkuk University won first place among all Iraqi universities, Wasit University won second place, Karbala University won third place, and Al-Mustaqbal University College also won third place.
In conclusion, the organizing bodies and the dean of the college honored all the winning teams with medals and winning cups, in addition to honoring the tournament referees with tournament medals, wishing all participants and contributors to the success of the tournament success and more giving in the service of our mother college and the service of our beloved Iraq, and working with one hand to enhance all the goals of sustainable development that aim, according to its sixteenth and seventeenth goals, at peace, justice, strong institutions, and forming partnerships to achieve the goals.
