The Psychological Guidance and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr Fatima Abd Maleh, and the supervision of its official, Prof. Dr Hoda Abdul Samee, and members of its unit, hosted the Guidance Units Follow-up Officer at the Psychological and Educational Research Center at the University of Baghdad, Dr. Hussam Yassin Ali, to hold an awareness-raising lecture for first-year female students. Members of the College Council attended the lecture.
The lecture focused on defining the concept of guidance, how to enhance positive behavior, how to move from the school environment to the university environment, and learning about self- and cognitive guidance theories.
For her part, the Dean of the College explained to the students the role of the Guidance Unit in the college and its work in introducing students to all the college facilities, including classrooms, playgrounds, and scientific branches.
On the sidelines of the lecture, the Guidance Unit prepared its weekly breakfast for the students to enhance their parental and educational role towards them.
At the end of the lecture, the Dean of the College expressed her thanks and appreciation to the person responsible for following up on the guidance units at the university, wishing all those working in guidance success and fulfilment in serving our college and our mother university.
This lecture achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, quality education, and the seventeenth goal, establishing partnerships to achieve the goals.
