The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific workshop entitled (Smart Goals for Fourth and fifth-grade students), presented by a team games department member, Prof. Dr Sundus Musa Jawad.
Dr. Sundus explained the concept of smart goals as a powerful tool for students to help them achieve academic and personal success, develop time management skills, and increase motivation and self-confidence, explaining their importance in providing clarity, focus, motivation, goal achievability, organization, development, self-confidence, success, and decision-making.
She also classified their types into personal, academic, professional, social, and health goals, in addition to formulating them specifically, relevantly, and with a specific time.
She added that the mind map for drawing her goals is represented by defining the goal and smart goals, sharing the goals on the board, implementing activities, evaluation, follow-up, and encouraging students. The map can also be drawn using mind mapping tools or paper and applied in a practical manner such as brainstorming sessions and a goal sheet model.
This workshop achieves one of the Sustainable Development Goals, the fourth goal: quality education.
