Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, the college hosted the preparatory meeting for the National Conference titled “School Dropout: National Challenges and Future Solutions.” The conference is organized by the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Education, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani and supervised by Dr. Adnan Al-Sarraj, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Education Affairs.
The official conference proceedings are scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Al-Mansour Melia Hotel—Qurtuba Hall, Baghdad.
Today’s preparatory meeting was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hawra’a Mohammed Al-Mubarraq as Chairperson, with Asst. Prof. Dr. Nashwan Mahmoud Al-Saffar as Rapporteur and Dr. Rawa’a Hamdi Al-Jaf as a Committee Member. The meeting focused on discussing the tasks and preparations of the various committees for the conference. Additionally, the committee announced the selection of 60 research papers aligned with the conference’s nine key themes out of a total of 150 submitted papers from researchers representing both ministries.
This meeting aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering collaboration and addressing critical educational challenges.
