Under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr Fatima Abd Malih, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for the Girls/ University of Baghdad hosted the “Baghdadia Al-Hawa” Team Bazaar, managed by Ms Siba Hamid. Approximately 15 individuals participated. The event, which will continue for three days, featured a display of unique handmade crafts, including accessories and jewelry made from precious stones.
Dr Fatima expressed her admiration for this initiative, which aims to support and empower women and encourage them to showcase their talents and achievements. She praised the resilience and creativity of Iraqi women, emphasizing their role in driving the market, fostering entrepreneurship, and supporting the private sector despite the challenges they face.
This bazaar represents a significant step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering collaboration to advance these objectives.
