Under the patronage of Dean Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls/ University of Baghdad hosted a delegation of students from Afaq Al-Mustaqbal Private Mixed School, located in the Zafaraniyah district.
The visit aimed to familiarize students with the college’s facilities and equipment, including indoor and outdoor sports fields and gardens. The students also participated in various activities, such as scouting ceremonies and sports events, including basketball, volleyball, and handball. Additionally, the visit sought to inspire students to choose their future academic paths and emphasized the importance of sports in developing physical and health-related skills.
Dean Dr. Fatima highlighted the significance of academic and educational collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education, given their strong interconnection. She also emphasized the college’s role in advancing school sports through physical education classes, teaching students scouting greetings and flag-raising ceremonies, and preparing future physical education teachers to contribute to schools.
In response, the Afaq Al-Mustaqbal delegation expressed their deep appreciation to the college dean for the warm reception and excellent organization. They praised the enriching experience, which allowed them to explore the sports environment within the college and enjoy the various activities provided.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 17, Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating the college’s commitment to strengthening institutional and community ties.
