The Career Development, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih, and supervised by Lect. Safia Ihsan hosted two lectures from Al-Imam Al-Azam University, Dr. Kawthar Abdul Rahman and Dr. Sarah Ziyad, to conduct a workshop titled (Passing Job Interview).
The workshop focused on three main areas:
-
Explaining the Concept of the (Smart Job Interview) – a professional interview designed to assess a candidate’s skills, experience, and personality through analytical and behavioral questions that evaluate how they handle various situations.
-
Introducing Different Types of Interviews—including the traditional interview, which focuses on questions related to skills and experience; the behavioral interview, which is based on the candidate’s past experiences; and group interviews, phone interviews, and online interviews.
-
Distinguishing Between a Resume and a Job Interview – emphasizing that a resume is a written document presenting personal information, experience, and skills to secure an interview opportunity. In contrast, a job interview is a direct interaction with the employer to assess the candidate’s suitability for the position, highlighting their personality and professional competencies.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean, Dr. Fatima, awarded certificates of appreciation to the two lecturers in recognition of their efforts in organizing this event. The event aims to prepare students for the job market, both within their field of study and in other areas. The workshop also underscored the importance of gaining the essential training and experience needed for employment.
This workshop aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
