The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of Dean Prof. Dr Fatima Abd Malih and the supervision of Prof. Dr Huda Abdul Samee, organised a volunteer campaign to distribute clothing to orphaned students.
This initiative was launched to celebrate the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr. It aims to collect and distribute clothing and essential items to meet the student’s needs.
The college dean emphasised that this campaign reflects the institution’s social and humanitarian responsibility commitment. Assisting orphaned students is part of the college’s mission to support community service principles and enhance its educational and academic role.
It is worth noting that the Counseling Unit regularly organises similar initiatives as part of its annual program, including clothing distribution and Ramadan iftar gatherings, in alignment with the university’s social responsibility plan
Such campaigns contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities.
