The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, held a workshop titled (Course Description Writing), presented by the Unit Head, Asst. Prof. Dr Sura Ahmed Saleh.

The workshop aimed to enhance the mechanisms of drafting academic course descriptions to achieve the intended learning outcomes. This comes as part of the college’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality and efficiency of the educational process.

Dr Sura discussed the best teaching and learning strategies, including interactive methods such as lectures, educational videos, smart boards, and direct classroom engagement with students.

She also explained to the faculty members the best practices for preparing course descriptions, including defining learning objectives, learning outcomes, course content, and assessment methods, and ensuring their alignment with national and international accreditation standards.

Dr Sura added that developing a well-structured course description is a key step toward clarifying the learning pathway for students, enhancing instructional planning, and improving evaluation and follow-up processes.

This workshop supports Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 4 (Quality Education).
