A lecturer in the theoretical sciences branch in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. Zainab Ali Abdel-Amir held a scientific symposium as part of the activities of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit for first-stage students, entitled (An introduction to university life).
The symposium focused on several axes, including giving an idea of how female students adapt to the new university life, identifying the difficulties that first-stage students may face in choosing university life, explaining the importance of the university stage because it is one of the most important stages and the first steps towards a career, providing students with important advice and guidance. That helps them overcome various difficulties, the ability to compete creatively with female colleagues, which in turn builds personality and ideas.
The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of introducing students to how to deal positively with university scientific and social data, urging students to explore their talents, in addition to working to develop their capabilities in all fields by receiving the largest possible number of experiences to benefit from them in practical life, the need to seek to establish Seminars and workshops for female students for the purpose of increasing their cultural level, to refine their personalities, to increase their social integration, and to develop their ideas to serve our society.
