The University of Baghdad proudly participated in the Iraqi Universities Athletics Championship, held at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences stadium from April 26 to 29, 2025. The event brought together 50 public and private universities from across Iraq.

Demonstrating exceptional performance, the University of Baghdad’s women’s team claimed first place, accumulating 107 points, while the men’s team achieved second place in their respective categories.

The university’s representation included:

  • Professor Dr. Aseel Jaleel, a faculty member of the Department of Individual Sports who served as a referee,

  • Dr. Hind Salem Taih participated as a coach.

  • Student Amina Naseer Othman, who competed as a sprinter in the 4x100m relay, represents the University of Baghdad’s women’s team.

This commendable participation underscores the University of Baghdad’s ongoing commitment to fostering athletic excellence and promoting the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition among its students.
