The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop )Health Fitness for Pregnant Women(.
The workshop was presented by faculty members from the Departments of Theoretical and Individual Sports Sciences, Lect. Dr. Zuhad Fawzi and Asst. Lect. Diana Ghanem.
The workshop focused on several key topics, most notably the benefits of exercise for women’s health, the physiological importance of physical activity, and its positive effects on women’s well-being. It also addressed the physiological changes during exercise and the importance of maintaining physical activity during pregnancy.
The speakers highlighted a range of recommended exercises for pregnant women, including walking, light jogging, brisk walking, swimming, cycling, and yoga. The workshop also outlined types of light exercises suitable during pregnancy, while warning against certain sports activities that are better avoided during this stage.
This workshop supports achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for All.
