The Student Activities and Women Empowerment Units and the Scout Group at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, organized a celebration on the occasion of Victory Day over terrorist groups and the liberation of Iraqi lands.
The celebration included flag-raising ceremonies, playing the national anthem, and then standing to recite Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of our righteous martyrs.
The Dean of the College also delivered a speech on this occasion, appreciating the great role of all types of security forces in defeating ISIS, blessing the sacrifices that were made to achieve victory and for this day to be a beacon that guides generations and a lighthouse that illuminates the paths for the honorable and free, in addition to presenting the highest expressions of appreciation and gratitude to the supreme religious authority that issued the fatwa and whose call was answered by the free Iraqis who gave their most precious and valuable things in order to liberate the lands. We send them a thousand greetings of love and peace for what they have offered for the sake of Iraq’s prosperity and the continuity of its security.
After that, the Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Affairs gave a speech on this occasion, recalling those who have done us all a favor, especially those whose blood cleansed the earth to perform the prayer of liberation from the filth of the groups of takfir and darkness, to draw pictures of courage, awareness of faith, and support for the truth alongside our brothers in the armed forces to achieve victory, strengthen the spirit of love and belonging to Iraq, ward off all that calls for division, and vigilance from the dangers threatening our country, and work with one hand with honesty and sincerity to advance our reality and build a future for our children thanks to the arms of the heroes. The celebration included the recitation of poems about love of the homeland and victory by the students, in addition to chanting national songs. This celebration achieves one of the goals of sustainable development represented by the sixteenth goal of peace, justice, and strong institutions.
